About Me

I'm Anni and this blog is me living the life I love

Energising yoga, my puppy, nice (and naughty) food, the great outdoors as well as things to see and do in the UK. These are things that bring me joy and, as happiness is the highest form of health, I plan on indulging in them. This blog started as it was a way for me to document all of my interests and connect with others who love them too.

"We write to taste life twice"
- Anais Nin

We all have labels placed on us as a result of our experiences. I have been a ballet dancer, tree climber, country bumpkin, city worker, researcher, student; one life, many labels. Then 2 years ago I started falling ill. At first the symptoms came on gradually but when I broke, I broke completely. I couldn't walk, read, eat, sleep or function on any level without pain and difficulty. It took quite some time to get a diagnosis but eventually I was given a new label to assign to myself; M.E. sufferer. Myalgic encephalomyelitis to those in the know or CFS (chronic fatigue syndrome) as some prefer. Whatever label you wish to give it, it brought my world to a grinding halt.

"We must be willing to let go of the life we have planned, so as to have the life that is waiting for us"
 - Joseph Campbell

It is only when you have all that you worked for taken from you that you assess what it is you truly want. I must admit, what I discovered I wanted is not at all what I had before. After looking back at my passions, the things I always said that I would indulge in once I earned enough/had the time/had someone to enjoy them with, I saw how much I was neglecting them in my everyday life. Phil Parker's Lightning Process started to give me back my health, from there there has been no stopping me. I am now lucky enough to count myself as well on the road to recovery, but it has not been the easiest of journeys. Nonetheless, my quest for optimum health has kickstarted a new lifestyle for me and it is one I wish to share.

"The secret of change is to focus all of your energy, not on fighting the old, but on building the new"
- Socrates

It is tricky to know how much to pop down. Where to draw the lines between the entire self (past, present and future) and what I wish to share on the internet. Of all of the work that has had to go into getting this blog up and running, this page truly has taken me the longest to pull together. I have done my best to keep things brief, whilst giving enough of a gist as to why I decided to enter the blogosphere. Fingers crossed you have found enough of a reason to look a little further.

Happy Reading!
